i brought excel 2007
ive set up my order to go connection
i can see the live data, ask and bid

i dont understand where to start with my calculation

im currently trying to make a recording of 1 minuits worth of data so that i can build a one minuit chart

what i am doing is wrong wrong function or way of using the data

i tryed many combinations

like

my cell for eur/jpy ask is c11
so i make a table that has rows for counting the number of ticks within 1minuit, 2minits, 3 etc...

=COUNT(C11, MINUIT(1:2))

this seems to return me with the counted amount of numbers in the C11 cell
which is the price so it gives me the answer 1

the level of understanding i am at is frustrating
can any one help me with this?

i dont understand the fact that excel is perfect for trading on ,building automated trading systems and they even have facilitys like stock charts but i look all over the net, buy books, look on the help and download .xls files to try and find templates so i can see what to do and i can find no help or step by step for getting data arranged in order to be used for a stock chart.

Since your intention is to download historical and live price streams in order to create price charts why not use our Price Engine Client SDK.

See if you can access the thread with this link.

The thread is "Pec Sdk 7.00.0803.2110 (http://www.fxprogrammers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=912)" which is currently the latest version of the Price Engine Client.
