HELP NEEDED with DDE feed - urgent!!

Hello,

I need someone's help. I have a problem that I have not been able to solve, but know that is solveable.

I have Tradestation 8.1 and used to deal with their data. No longer. Now, I want to feed my DDE feed from FXCM into Tradestation through a data manager called " Own data." Before anybody thinks that it can't be done, let me tell you that it can be done. I currently use "owndata" to connect to the "Ccyall" spreadsheet of the FXCM DDE downloader and it works beautifully. The problem? Tradestation imports the data but it happens to be the wrong scale. All I get is a straight line, instead of bar charts. I have tried changing the settings but nothing works.

I have also tried contacting Owndata as well as Tradestation but there is nothing wrong with my settings in Owndata. The problem is with Tradestation and they are not giving me the help I deserve because I am switching over to FXCM.

Has anybody used Tradestation in conjunction with FXCM's dde feed? If so, I would really appreciate some help. You can contact me directly at zebra7860@yahoo.ca , or alternatively, post a respose here.

Hi Zebra7860,

A first place to look is probably the properties tab of the symbol in TradeStation 8 (TS8) and in OwnData. In TS8, you can right click on a chart, select Format Symbol..., and then go to the properties tab.
Check that your Price Scale, Min Move and Big Point Value are set correctly.

In addition, you should be able to get the DDE feed directly from the DDE rather than have it go into Excel, and then obtain it from excel. You just need to set the server, item and topic, which are FXPS, EUR/USD and BID respectively for the application you are using.

I'm trying to do the samething but so far I've had even less luck. How did you get OwnData to connect with FXCM?
